Wedding Bells

Saturday November 11 we celebrated the wedding of James Breslin and Catherine Howard. In a first for Holy Trinity, the bride was piped into the church by tudor musicians playing a drum, mini trombone (at least the is the best way I can describe it) and a set of bagpipes that would have been common in Elizabethan times. It was an unusual and memorable start to the day. I will try and post a link to the responsible musicians, in the meantime here is some more information on tudor wind instruments: -
Difficult as it was to follow this, a goodly number of choristers together with Jimmy, Maz and Choirboy continued with the following music: -
Entry: - Song of the body of Christ

Alleluia: - Plymouth Alleluia

Offertory: - All that I am

Holy Holy: - Newquay mass

Mem Acclamation: - Lord by Your cross

Amen: - We lift our hearts

Lamb of God: - Newquay mass

Communion: - I watch the sunrise
We were slightly worried about the communion hymn and its metre but thanks to Maz we were able to complete it satisfactorily. Post communion and whilst the register was being signed, Choirboy played DJ with some Taize music before Mr and Mrs Breslin were piped out of the church to be whisked away to Trerice Manor in a green Landrover called "Blot".
Choirboy is grateful to the choir and musicians for their contributions and passes on the congratulations and thanks of a number of wedding guests and Mr and Mrs Breslin.
